Vipassana Retreat With Denise Barclay at Camp Galilee
October 29, 2025 – November 2, 2025

Please save the dates of October 29 – November 2nd for a weekend of silent Vipassana meditation with Denise Barclay at Camp Galilee!
Taking time to unplug from the craziness and busyness of living in order to rest, rejuvenate and reflect on what our intentions are for this one precious life. Retreat is a simplification of all activities to just eating, sitting, walking and taking care of the body and mind/heart with the healing powers of Lake Tahoe and the caring nourishment of the Galilee Staff.
Based on the teachings of the Buddha through the lens of the Theravada tradition Denise Barclay combines over four decades of a spiritual journey that spans many traditions in her offerings, including Yoga and QiGong. She began teaching yoga in 1998, facilitated her first retreat in 2012 and has been working with students of the Dhamma individually and in groups since 2006.
The retreat will be an in-person retreat. In the spirit of loving kindness and ethical behavior, Dharma Zephyr will follow all federal, state, and local mandates regarding infectious diseases. To care for all who attend our events, we ask that if you are sick (cold, cough, sore throat, runny nose, etc.) or have had a fever, vomiting or diarrhea in the 24 hours prior to an event, that you not attend the event. In addition, for the safety and wellbeing of our community, Dharma Zephyr strongly encourages, but does not require, that participants at our activities and events be vaccinated and boosted for infectious diseases as recommended by the Center for Disease Control.
Arrival/Departure: Arrive on Thursday no later then 4:30 pm and the retreat will finish on Sunday around 11:30am.
Denise Barclay has been teaching yoga since 1998 and has been practicing Vipassana meditation since 1995. In May 2012, she completed the Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training under Phillip Moffitt and Anne Cushman through Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Over the years, her dedication to teaching mindfulness, movement, and meditation, alongside her extensive retreat experience, has earned her the role of Dharma Leader/Teacher for the Dharma Zephyr Insight Meditation Community.
Denise’s deep commitment to the Buddha Dharma, QiGong and yoga, along with her studies with Heather Sundberg since 2013—especially through Heather’s Committed Students Program—further underscores her spiritual and teaching journey. As a mother, Reiki practitioner, and mindfulness coach, she draws on over four decades of personal experience in self-exploration, healing, and mindfulness, enriching her work with wisdom and compassion.
