Due to the pandemic, most groups are currently not meeting in person. We have listed below all of our groups that are currently meeting online or in person. We have found that even in online formats a wonderful sense of support and community can be felt.
Sitting quietly in meditation is a central part of our practice. Sitting quietly TOGETHER brings the support of our Sangha, or community of practitioners, to our own meditation practice. By studying and talking together after the quiet sitting period, we can deepen our understanding of this 2,500-year-old practice we are undertaking.
Dharma Zephyr has several sitting groups meeting in northern Nevada/Tahoe communities including Reno, Carson City, Minden/Gardnerville, and a special groups for inmates of the Warm Springs Correctional Center and Northern Nevada Correctional Center. We welcome all comers; you don’t have to be Buddhist to attend. Beginners are always welcome at all groups. Each group is organized differently and has its own unique “culture.” There is no cost to attend, though a practice of generosity through donations is welcomed to help defray expenses when we are meeting in person.
