I am grateful for the authors of fiction that opens a window onto the lives of people from different backgrounds. People say you should travel to experience how others live, but what does looking through the window of a tour bus really teach you? Fiction allows entry into anther’s experience in an intimate way, and I appreciate that. It helps to open my heart.
