A Day-Long Retreat: Investigation & Equanimity: Two Factors of Awakening
June 21, 2014 @ 3:00 am - 10:00 am
How do I bring more Curiosity into my meditation & my life?
What is the role of Inquiry & Deep Investigation in meditation?
How do I cultivate Non-Reactivity & Balance of Mind
within the joys & sorrows in my life & in the world?
In this daylong we will celebrate two of the traditional seven factors of enlightenment: Investigation & Equanimity. Exploring the complementary roles of Investigation (deep inner-outer exploration) & Equanimity (non-reactive balance of mind in the joys & sorrows of our world), we will awaken to our natural sense of balance, resiliency, and wise engagement in our lives.
Enjoy a day of quiet sitting and walking meditation, which allow our minds to settle down and our hearts to open to an inner wisdom. In addition to insight meditation practice,Heather will guide inquiry and equanimity practices, as well as offer teachings and simple movement practices, and facilitate discussion about how to live these teachings in our daily lives.

The Teacher offers the teachings freely in the tradition of the Buddha, and her livelihood is completely sustained by the generosity of the communities she serves. Dana (donation) for these priceless teachings will be gratefully accepted by the teacher, giving participants the opportunity to freely engage in the practice of generosity, the first step toward freedom.
