Cultivating Kindness and Wise Understanding: Two Days of Practice with Vance Pryor

During this time together, we will explore the intersection between friendliness towards ourselves and others along with fostering continuity of awareness. Through the unfolding of these qualities of mind, development of wise understanding occurs. This leads to inner resilience while also helping refine our motivations and pathways through the world. Both formal sitting and walking meditation instruction will be offered, along with short talks and plenty of time for question and response periods.

Vance Pryor, PsyD, began insight meditation in 1998. He has been deeply influenced by the teachings of Sayadaw U Pandita and Sayadaw U Tejaniya. His training to become a teacher has been supported by the mentorship of Steve Armstrong and Kamala Masters. He is a recent graduate of IMS’s 2017-2021 Teacher Training Program.

Please bring a sack lunch and cushions if you wish to sit on the floor. Chairs will be provided.

Because the teachings are priceless this event is offered free of a registration fee.  However, in order to support our teacher in his ongoing work of spreading the Dharma and our organization in its work of offering the sanctuary of retreats and sitting groups to our community, there will be an opportunity to offer dana (a donation) in support of our activities.
