The Anatomy of Ignorance with Donald Rothberg
October 5, 2014 @ 2:30 am - 9:30 am
In the Buddhist as well as other traditions East and West the root cause of suffering is spiritual ignorance, our not knowing the nature of things and our own human nature. Out of such ignorance come habitual tendencies to greed, hatred, aversion and delusion, which influence how we see the world and our behavior.
We will explore through talks, meditation and discussion how to understand, identify and transform ignorance, and cultivate ways to practice with these grounded in compassion.
Venue is handicapped accessible. The day is suitable for beginners. Please bring a bag lunch. Because the teachings are considered priceless, they are offered freely with donations supporting the teacher and the cost to Dharma Zephyr of offering the day.
Donald Rothberg, Ph.D., a member of the Teachers Council at Spirit Rock, has practiced Insight Meditation since 1976, and has also received training in Tibetan Dzogchen and Mahamudra practice, as well as the Hakomi approach to body-based psychotherapy.
