Not-Self Boot Camp – Afternoon Zoom Retreat with Amita Schmidt

Join Amita Schmidt on Zoom for an afternoon of practice, reflections, and diving deeply into not-self as a liberation tool. You will be given tools to work with decreasing the identification with self and self-referencing, including micro-practices and reflections for daily life, as well as sitting meditation guidelines. Not-self/Anatta practice is unique to Buddhism, and is a powerful way to cultivate a steady, unshakeable heart during difficult times.

1:45-2:15 pm Walking meditation/Home mindfulness

2:15-3:00pm Dharma Talk

3:00-3:30pm Walking meditation/Home mindfulness

3:30-4:00pm Guided meditation

4:00-4:15pm Break

4:15-5:00pm Q and A

Amita Schmidt is a meditation teacher who has been leading retreats nationally since 1998. Her training includes over two decades of meditation practice in Buddhism (Vipassana) and numerous three-month, silent retreats. She was the resident teacher at Insight Meditation Society (Massachusetts) from 2000-2006. Amita’s teaching has been deeply impacted by teacher Adyashanti. She currently combines her history of mindfulness practice with the non-dual teachings of inquiry and resting in stillness/true nature.Amita is the author of Dipa Ma: The Life and Legacy of a Buddhist Master (BlueBridge, May 2005) and a contributor to Buddha Laughing: A Tricycle Book of Cartoons.
